Colete Martin

PORTLAND, OR

Colete Martin paints figurative works that examine gender, power, and desire through mythological and magical themes, often referencing nature as goddess. Her vivid colors and feathered brushstrokes ripple like passages of light to celebrate her subjects, their vulnerability and their strength.

Also an accomplished illustrator, Martin obtained her BFA from School of Visual Arts in NYC earning multiple scholarships, and awards. She currently teaches at Rhode Island School of Design and Pacific Northwest College of Art. Martin began exhibiting with Arch Enemy Arts in 2022 after submitting to our Spotlight Showcase.
