Emma Black

UNITED KINGDOM

Emma Black is a pop surrealist artist and illustrator based in the UK, who employs an effortless precision and technical mastery to capture the uncanny relationship between death and the natural world. Black’s application of paint is tightly rendered yet expressive and evokes the same “unreality” of her representations, creating curious passages between forms and figures to evoke a dark beauty that is captivating to behold.

Black studied at the University of Westminster with honors and earned a Master's degree from Cambridge School of Art in 2016. She has exhibited internationally and been specially featured in Beautiful Bizarre and Juxtapoz magazines. Black exhibited her first solo feature with Arch Enemy Arts in 2021 after participating in numerous group shows since 2019.
