Jesse Jacobi

DETROIT, MI

Jesse Jacobi creates work to be looked at from different angles. By design, he paints open-ended dream-like symbolism, dependent on the viewer–psychologically, emotionally, mythologically, ecologically. The figures in his paintings can be taken at face-value as different entities, or they could all be aspects of one; the places can be of one or many worlds. One fact remains for all viewers–Jacobi’s work is always encompassing, enthralling and visually captivating in his attention to detail, texture, hue, and form.

Jacobi is a self-taught artist, who was born near Detroit, and began his artistic practice in 2016. He took quickly to this calling, earning a write-up in Hi-Fructose in 2017 and appearing in twelve group shows at Arch Enemy Arts since submitting to our open call Spotlight Showcase in 2018.
