J. Henry
NEW YORK CITY, NY
J. Henry creates ornate and intricately detailed oil paintings that resurrect profound narratives of the past to carry us away from the present. Her precisely constructed, deeply thoughtful compositions allow viewers to revel in the sublime power of beauty as we explore extravagant worlds rife with fantasy and magic.
As a skilled scenic painter for the NYC theater industry, Henry studied architectural ornament, faux finish and tromp l’oeil professionally after she graduated from the School of Visual Arts in Manhattan with a degree in Illustration. In 2020, Henry received a Boynes Emerging Artist Award. She has exhibited in five group shows with Arch Enemy Arts since applying to our open call Spotlight Showcase in 2021.
