Juliet Schreckinger

LONG ISLAND, NY

Artist Juliet Schreckinger creates whimsical narratives-by-the-sea in ink and graphite. Employing a tedious and time-consuming technique called stippling, Schreckinger faintly applies a miniscule pen in gentle, repetitive touches of ink to render breathtaking gradients, details, and textures of playful and precocious sea creatures. With her work, she invites viewers to engage with the animals of her beloved home, to know them as friends, and to give voice to an ever-uncertain yet profoundly important habitat.

Schreckinger studied at The School of Visual Arts in Manhattan, earning a degree in Illustration. She has since been featured in countless exhibitions and publications and regularly participates in environmental conservation initiatives. Arch Enemy Arts is proud to have been the first major New Contemporary gallery to carry Schreckinger’s work, hosting her first solo feature in 2022 after submitting to our open call Spotlight Showcase in 2021 and participating in several group exhibitions.
