VERONICA JAEGER

RADIANCE

solo exhibition

July 13th - August 4th, 2024

Closing Reception: First Friday, August 2nd from 5-9pm

Arch Enemy Arts presents RADIANCE, a new mini-collection by Veronica Jaeger. Playful and absurd, Jaeger’s paintings feature wild distortions of saturated color. She immerses her subjects in a surreal association of ideas, bouncing viewers about the canvas like a child engaging in play.

“RADIANCE refers to the brilliance and triumph of the light over the winter or dark season. The inspiration to go in this particular direction came from reading the cosmic and psychological meaning of the classic fairy tales from the Brothers Grimm. [In this series] I use the symbols of Red Riding Hood as allegories. Red Riding Hood is the light or the sun, and the wolf is a symbol for darkness. In this small series, my characters are dwelling in the pleasant side of the light, merging with nature.”

Veronica Jaeger was born in Venezuela, and now lives in Mission, Texas. She obtained her MFA from the University of Texas Pan-American in 2006 and has exhibited extensively in galleries and museums worldwide. Jaeger began showing with Arch Enemy Arts in 2021 after submitting to our Spotlight Showcase, and RADIANCE marks her first solo collection with the gallery.
